He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivy Monroe Mitchell and Theo Thelma Mitchell (Newman); his daughters, Lynda Mitchell and Brenda Mitchell; and his grandchildren, Kassie Mitchell and Cynthia Vines.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Mitchell of Many, LA; his children, Deborah Kay Mitchell, Monk Leach of Marthaville, LA, Dickie Leach (Tim) of Many, LA, Dewayne Mitchell (Susie) of Converse, LA, Keith Mitchell (Linda) of Noble, LA and Brett Mitchell (Tammy) of Many, LA; and his brother Elbert "Bo" Mitchell of Kentucky. He is also survived by grandchildren, thirty two great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
