He was predeceased by: his parents, Will Butler and Annie Butler; his siblings, Brice Butler, Clayton Butler, Jack Butler, J. W. Butler, Dwight Butler, Thomas Allen Butler, Lily Brister, Elvie Southern, Nora Robinson, Sadie Howell, Ada Howell, Willie Matthews and Jesse Brown; and his wife Dorothy Iris Reed.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Lee Butler of Many, Jerry William Butler of Lampoon and Judy Kaye Harrison of Tomball, Texas; and his grandchildren, Christy Ponder, Angela Butler, Brian Butler, Christopher Butler, Jessica Butler, Tabitha Creel and Andrew Butler. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
