She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Tassin and Elizabeth Ducote Tassin; her son Don Harris; and her siblings, Phillip Tassin and Cynthia Tassin.
She is survived by: her husband Melvin Harris; her children, Phyllis Chatelain (Myron), Robin Harris Thevenot, Susan Bordelon (Scott), Todd Harris, Melvin James Harris, Jr. (Kristie) and Clint Harris (Shannon); her grandchildren, Joshua Chatelain, Dustin Chatelain (Heather), Adam Chatelain (Jessica), Sarah Chatelain, Ned Wright (Holly), Peter Wright, Davis Harris, Joseph Harris (Mary Maddux), Megan Thevenot (Andrew Rudnik), Courtney Stearns (Doug), Abby Birdsong (James), Jeffrey Harris, Connor Harris, Taylor Harris, Anna Harris and Lindsay Harris; and her brothers, Sylvian Tassin (Judy), Kenneth Tassin (Sandra), Raphael Tassin and Harry Peter Tassin (Cheryl). She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, September 27th 2024 from 8:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the Escude Funeral Home (6608 Porterie St, Mansura, LA 71350). A prayer will be held on Thursday, September 26th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 27th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church (1879 L'Eglise St, Mansura, LA 71350).
