It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ed Stirgus of Mansura, Louisiana, who passed away on February 25, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Catherine Stirgus; his parents, Willie Stirgus and Doretha Johnson Stirgus; his grandson Terrance Young; his siblings, Robert Stirgus, Lee Andrew Stirgus, Charlie Stirgus, Shirley Mae Richard, Viola S. Brown, Willie Lee Stirgus, Rosemary Stirgus, Mildred Stirgus and Beverly Ann Stirgus; his niece Brenda Ann Richard; and his uncle Howard Stirgus.
He is survived by: his children, Regena Young (Anthony) of New Orleans, Alice Johnson (Arshield) of Baker, Eddie Stirgus of Monroe and Alex Stirgus of New Orleans; his sisters, Dorothy S. Lea of Forney, TX, Gloria Stirgus of Mansura, Katherine S. Corner of Mansura, Mary Ann Stirgus of Baton Rouge and Ivette Stirgus; his grandchildren, Eddie Jose Stirgus (Kurissa), Christopher John Stirgus (Shae), Chavez Cades, Tempest Jasmine Smith (Richard), Raven Alexis Butler, Arshield Curry, Arshield Johnson, Jr., Aysia Johnson, Lacy Johnson, Anthony Young and Jonathan Young; his great grandchildren, Auri Nettles, Amyri Nettles, Richard Smith, Jr. and Autumn Cades; his aunt Mary Goins of Shreveport; and his siblings-in-law, Romas Antoine (Delia) of Simmesport, Rynnie Antoine (Henrietta) of Fort Worth, TX, Lionel Antoine (Beverly) of Cedar Hill, TX, Barbara Alexander of Simmesport and Patricia Hernandez of Lewisville, TX..
