He was predeceased by: his parent O. J. Chatelain, Sr.; his former wife Dolores B. Chatelain; his daughter Elizabeth; his parent Leontine Chatelain; his brothers, Merlin Chatelain and Fernand Chatelain; and his stepgrandson John S. Flanagan.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Chatelain; his sons, Phillip Chatelain (Roberta) of Alexandria and Keith Chatelain of Mansura; and his stepgreat-grandson River A. Flanagan. He is also survived by the many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of choice.
