He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Cecil Jumel Turner and Cathleen Bankston Turner; his grandson Kyler Turner; his wife Cynthia Turner; his children, Robert (Brandy Scott), Rick (Amanda Turner), Kayla (Jonathan Scott) and James (Candice Scott); and his grandchildren, Shanda, Chase, Madison, Weston, Benjamin and Owen. He was also cherished by his four children.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Pleasantview Baptist church Youth Fund or the Senior Fund.
