He was predeceased by: his parents, Burl Aulton Lafitte and Francis Semmes Young; his wife Alice Marie Guillotte Lafitte; and his siblings, Bell Young Lafitte and Ina Marie Lafitte.

He is survived by: his children, Joseph Lafitte (Suzonne), Jaimy Lafitte (Lori), John Lafitte (Michelle), Jerone Lafitte (Tonya), Joyce Lafitte-Nesom (Wade) and Jeanie Hutchinson (Robert); and his brothers, Louis Lafitte (Dorothy), Gerald Lafitte, Francis Lafitte (Mitzi) and James Lafitte (Janice). He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rose Neath Funeral Homes - Mansfield (943 Polk St, Mansfield, LA 71052). A rosary was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church. A burial was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
