She was predeceased by: her parents, William Rolland Sturcken and Marie Combel Sturcken. She is survived by: her husband Ray Michael Newton; her children, Michael Raymond Newton (Michelle) and Christina Newton Taix (Ray); her siblings, Lynne Sturcken Claverie (Dan) and Robert William Sturcken (Dion); her grandchildren, David Michael Newton (Violet-Rose), Christopher Ryan Newton (Lindsey), Hannah Claire Gegenheimer, Ray Michael Joseph Taix and Jacob Matthew Taix; and her family Sheila. She is also survived by five great- granddaughters; as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Matthew the Apostle Church (10021 Jefferson Hwy, River Ridge, LA 70123). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Memories Funeral Home and Cemetery (4900 Airline Dr, Metairie, LA 70001).
