It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rene Cosby Ellis of Mandeville, Louisiana, born in Newport News, Virginia, who passed away on May 7, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Rene Ellis and Catherine Eggleston Moore Ellis; and his brother Aubry J. Ellis. He is survived by: his wife Doris "Dottye" Denmon Ellis; his sons, Charles R. Ellis (Bonnie) and W. Cosby Ellis (Donna); his stepchildren, Mark J. Brunet (Donna) and Traci T. Brunet (Clayton); his grandchildren, Charles R. Ellis (Molly), Ashley O. Richard (Seth) and Robin Ellis; and his stepgrandchildren, Trey Brunet, James Brunet and Abbie Brunet. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
