Alan Raphael wrote a sympathy message

“To the Becker Family: Heartfelt and sincere condolences to y'all in the loss of your beloved John! He always had a warming smile and an extended hand in greeting whenever I encountered him and Mrs. Mary Jane, at a UNO volleyball game, a Tulane fundraiser, or a WWII Museum function! I was always comforted by their familiar presence and easy manner...he will be missed! May the memory of happier times soon replace the sorrow you are presently experiencing! Best, Alan Raphael”
