He is survived by: his sons, Jimmy Root and Mario Messina; his wife Chonkonrat Messina; his children, Verlena Root, Gabrielle Messina, Dale Messina Jr. (Gail), Mark Messina and Clint Messina (Christina); his grandchildren, Lauren Root Constantin, Anthony Root, Jaqueline Root, Megan Messina, Dlisa Bridges, Jade Messina, Ciara Lytle, Carmela Messina and Celina Messina; his niece Arlene Tebbe VonderHarr (Joe); and his nephew Jim Tebbe (Denise). He is also survived by grandchildren, and even friends' children.
