Cyril Helmer Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cyril Helmer (Mandeville, Louisiana), born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on February 2, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, George Helmer and Corinne Helmer; his wife Joyce Bearmann Helmer; his former wife Dollieann Chevolleau Karl; his siblings, Lolita Helmer, Robert Helmer and George Helmer III; his nephews, Guy Helmer, Robey Helmer and Dennis Helmer; and his siblings-in-law, Victor Schmitt, Jr., Kay Irving, Thelma Helmer and Claire Schmitt.

He is survived by: his daughters, Cyrilla Oster (Jimmy), Tammy Wheeler (Greg) and Gina Horn (John); his grandchildren, Jimmy (Tiffany), Todd (Danielle), Drew (Mary), Denby (Jen), Chelsea (Blake), Dustin (Caitlyn), Ashley (Alex), Heather (Trey), Tiffany (Matthew) and Joyce; his sister Coralynn Hunt; his nephew Thomas DiSalvo; his brothers-in-law, Richard Schmitt (Carole), Jon Irving and Felix Chevolleau, Jr.; and his stepchildren, Randy Karl (Rebecca), Timothy Karl (Heather), Cynthia Scharfenstein, Carolyn Campo (Jody), Tammy Ulmer and Donna Isbell. He is also survived by nine step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
