It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Loretta Marcantel Gonsoulin of Mamou, Louisiana, who passed away on April 16, 2022, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Pierre Leroy Marcantel and Emily Fontenot Marcantel of Mamou, LA; and her brothers-in-law, Dennis and Richard Gonsoulin. She is survived by: her husband Kelly P. Gonsoulin; her children, Mark Gonsoulin (Jon Patin) of New Iberia, Rachel Gonsoulin Perrin (Clayton) of Lafayette and Tracey Gonsoulin Broussard (Jack) of New Iberia; her grandchildren, Madison Perrin Ferrante (Nicholas) of Egg Harbor, NJ and Lane Perrin of New Orleans, LA; her stepgrandsons, Brett Elizabeth Derouen and Alex Elizabeth Derouen; her stepgreat-granddaughter Eloise Elizabeth Derouen of New Iberia; her brother Alex "Train" Marcantel (Rose) of Houston, TX; her brothers-in-law, Gene Gonsoulin (Dot) of New Iberia, Jerry Gonsoulin (Brenda) of New Iberia, Clyde Gonsoulin of New Iberia and Benny Gonsoulin (Janelle) of New Iberia; and her aunt Wedna Leger (Woodrow) of Opelousas.
