With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Guy Newsom of Mamou, Louisiana, who passed away on October 17, 2023 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Guy Newsom, Sr. and Betty Jean Newsom (Manley); his brother Thomas Neil Newsom; and his friend Ola Mae Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Ellen Traylor; his children, Lauren Martinez (Chris) of Escobar and Frank Newsom (Shelby Sheahan) of Vancouver, WA; his brothers, James Ralph Newsom (Shannon) of Eunice, LA, Bryan Keith Newsom (Michelle) of Eunice, LA and Edward Scott Newsom (Chasity) of Mamou, LA; and his grandchildren, Everly Grace Martinez, Knight Logan Martinez, Valor Nathaniel Martinez and Leila Cruz Newsom.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Acadian Baptist Center in Eunice, Louisiana, or Shriners Hospital for Children.
