It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Joseph Gelpi Jr. of Madisonville, Louisiana, who passed away on June 13, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gelpi and Ione Gelpi (Braud); his sister Joan McGuay; and his daughter-in-law Wendy Gelpi. He is survived by: his wife Lynne Leyrer Gelpi; his children, Leslie Gelpi, Jeanne (Tuppy), Pecot (David, Jr.), John Gelpi III, Denise Ragan (Rickie) and Annette McDougal (Billy); his grandchildren, Melissa, Christian, Caitlin Sarrat, Jeannette, Suzanne Pecot, Jessyca, John IV, Jacob, Zachary Gelpi, Roch Ragan, Chase, Alex McDougal, Larry III, Reid, Zoë, Macie and Carlie Perrin; and his sisters, Virginia Gaudet and Paulette Hallford. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, wonderful lifelong friends.
