He was predeceased by: his daughter Christine Marie Venable; his wife Laura Mae Venable; his former wife Adrienne Speyrer; his parents, Wallace Joseph Venable and Romaine Gabriel Prudhomme; his siblings, Aline Marie Venable and Ronald Charles Venable; and his goddaughter Carla Prudhomme.
He is survived by: his children, E. J. Venable, Jr. (Christina Marie Libersat) of Luling and Stephanie Myers (Shawn) of Port Barre; his grandchildren, Shelby Smith (John), Brent Paul Venable and Chase Frederick; and his great grandchildren, Haven Christine Landry and John Jackson Smith.
