He was predeceased by: his parents, Ella Richard and Ellis Richard; and his wife Nelma Chauvin Richard. He is survived by: his daughter Toni Richard; his stepchildren, JoAnn R. Wellmeyer and Allen Richard, Sr.; his grandchildren, Shelley Cantrelle Miller and Karen Guillot; and his stepgrandchildren, Kristin Wellmeyer Bohlmann, Allen Richard, Jr., Angelle Richard Rosata and Louis Richard. He is also survived by his 12 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers Carroll requested that donations be made to the VFW Post 3750, P.O. Box 22, Luling, LA 70070 his wish was to assist in restoring the Post that was damaged during Hurricane Ida.
