She was predeceased by: her former husband Rufus Coates; her children, Larry Wayne Coates, Johnny Lee Coates, Jackie Lynn, Jerry Lynn and Nellie Jane Duplechain; her parents, Hollis Cureington and Leona Pippens Cureington; her siblings, Benny Cureington, Mack Cureington, Tony Cureington and Sandra Mason; and her grandchildren, Blakelynn Godeaux and Tracey Godeaux.
She is survived by: her husband Clyde Thompson of Lottie; and her siblings, Tollie Cureington of Opelousas, Sue Rawls of Crowville and Jewel Trent of Clayton. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and thirty-seven great-grandchildren.
