He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Champeaux and Irene Oubre Champeaux; his son Jamie Champeaux; his great grandchild Bentley Smith; his brother Gene Champeaux; and his daughter-in-law Catherine Broussard Champeaux.

He is survived by: his wife Norma Champagne Champeaux of Loreauville; his children, Claudette Pattillo (Jeff) of Loreauville, Trudy Smith (Timothy) of Loreauville and Tommy Champeaux (Serena) of New Iberia; his grandchildren, Cody Pattillo (Carrie) of Loreauville, Heath Pattillo (Stephanie) of Loreauville, Heidi Pattillo (Mike LeBlanc) of New Iberia, Hailey Delcambre (Carlos) of St. Martinville, Lani Owens (Luke) of Loreauville, Tim Smith (Lindsay) of Loreauville, Ashley Mesa (Josh) of Opelousas, Tifani Louviere (Mark) of Parks, Jayde Champeaux (Hannah) of Coteau and Amanda Rebert of St. Martinville; and his sister Sylvia Champeaux of St. Martinville. He is also survived by 27 great grandchildren.
