He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert James, Sr. and Mayola Thomas James; and his siblings, Bertha James, Albert James, Jr., Louis James and Mary Denise Zacharie.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Charles James of New Iberia, LA; his children, Verkarllo Charles (Pauline) of New Iberia, LA, Preston James, Jr. of New Iberia, LA, Atibia F. James of New Iberia, LA and Valencia A. Johnson (Thomas) of Youngsville, LA; and his brother Willie Zepherin (Vanessa) of Loreauville, LA. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
COVID-19: In an effort to comply with the CDC recommendations to cancel/postpone events with 10 or more people, and state officials imploring people to stay home and limit social interaction, the graveside service for Mr. Preston James, Sr. will be held privately and attendance limited to 10 persons or less.
