He was predeceased by: his parents, Redrick James Joiner, Sr. and Nellie Kyzar Joiner; and his sisters, Betsy Curtis, Stella Fernandez, Nellie Epaphanio, Grace Chadwick and Mozella Lavigne.

He is survived by: his wife Audrey Berne Joiner; his children, Dorris Joiner Milton, Rebecca Joiner Horton, Janet Joiner Verdun, Alicia Joiner Nicholas and Clarence Neal Joiner; his stepchildren, Frank, Mike and Vicky Barber; his stepgrandchildren, Dustin, Austin Barber and Kristin Summers; and his sisters, Gladys Spicker and Betty Pal. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
