He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Ann Burnthorne and Luke Burnthorne; and his siblings, Gladys, Wilmer, Pete, Mearl, Albert, Alice, Jay (J. D.) and Luke Burnthorne, Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Betty Kirschenheuter Burnthorne; and his nephew David Burnthorne. He is also survived by family, numerous other nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
