It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Galen David Berne of Loranger, Louisiana, who passed away on December 2, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his son David Berne; his mother Helen Oliphant Brown; his stepfather Alonzo Brown; his father George Berne; his stepmother Jean Lee Berne; his grandchildren, Joshua Husser (Brittany), Luke Sweeney, Logan Husser, Georgette Berne, Drew Sweeney, George Berne II and James Berne; and his great grandchildren, Hudson Husser, Henley Husser and Charlie Husser.
He is survived by: his significant other Barbara Morel Berne; and his sisters, Annette Bauers, Florence Thurman and Terri Hinshaw. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home and Crematory-Hammond (2000 N Morrison Blvd, Hammond, LA 70401). A masonic service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
