He is survived by: his wife Betty Prine Carlton; his children, Sharon Carlton, William Carton and David Carlton, Jr.; his grandchildren, Gabe Carlton, Jeffery Carlton, Scott Toissin, Ashlynne Heyer and M'ykenzie Heyer; and his brother Oscar Cartlton.
