He was predeceased by: his parents, Vester James Burnitt and Ivy Marie Shirley; and his sisters, Loretta Dianne Yancey and Marsha Gay Martin. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Lyons Burnitt; his sons, Daniel Burnitt of Kinder, Lee Burnitt of Lake Charles and Chris Dell; his grandchildren, Aiden Burnitt, Justin Dell and Austin Dell; and his siblings, Jolene Doyle, Katherine Bushnell, Margretta Rougeou, Syvella Ann Jackson, LaBreeska Joyce Hall and Clarence Silas Shirley.
