He was predeceased by: his father John Paul Wheless; and his grandparents, Burt, Mildred Chandler, Jack and Eva Mae Wheless.

He is survived by: his mother Shirley Marie Chandler Wheless of Logansport, Louisiana; his wife Susan Wheless of Logansport, Louisiana; his daughters, Ashley Sepulvado (Dexter) of Zwolle, Raina Wheless of Logansport and Kelsey Wheless of Logansport, Louisiana; his siblings, Amy Decker (Lee) of Lumberton, Texas, Jason Wheless (Billie Kay) of Logansport and Jerry Wheless of Logansport, Louisiana; his grandchildren, Camdyn Wheless and Draeton Sepulvado; and his daughter Susie Cox of Logansport, Louisiana.
