He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Jane Matherne; his parents, Barrios Matherne and Anna Matherne; and his siblings, Claude Sr., Glenn Matherne and Evelyn Minchew.
He is survived by: his daughters, Janice "Cookie" Danos (Richard) and Ramona Matherne (Robby Adams); his grandchildren, Harley Danos and Ashley Adams (Joey Adams Jr.); his stepgrandson Emmett Adams; and his siblings, Keith Matherne and DeAnna Matherne Boudreaux. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
