He is survived by: his wife Marguerite Matherne; his former wife Annie Joyce Matherne; his children, René Matherne (Cheryl), Debra Matherne and Gretchen Matherne; his grandchildren, Alexis Adams, Brandon Adams (Anita), Erica Brehm (Robert) and Micheal Matherne; his great grandchild Aubrey Adams; and his siblings, Arthur Matherne, Jr. (Cathy) and Tillie Clark. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM at the Holy Savior Little Church (201 Church St, Lockport, LA 70374). A burial was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 12:45 PM at the Holy Savior Cemetery (612 Main St, Lockport, LA 70374).
