He is survived by: his children, Claude "C. J." Matherne Jr., Linda Matherne, Susan Griffin, Christine Matherne and Cheryl Matherne; and his brothers, Raymond Matherne and Keith Matherne. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
