She was predeceased by: her husband Cecil Norman Brown, Sr.; her son James Edwin Brown; her daughter-in-law Linda Fisher Brown; her parents, Wren Freeman and Estella Norton Freeman; her siblings, Leona "Skeeter" Chisholm, Bobbie Carter, Geneva Muirhead, William Freeman, Mike Freeman and Jack Freeman; her siblings-in-law, Cliff, Frank, Ed, Edward, Maryetta, Joy and Jeanette; and her grandson-in-law Matthew Hughes.
She is survived by: her son Cecil Norman Brown, Jr. (Sharon Fortenberry); her grandchildren, Tina Smith (John), Thomas Brown (Vicki) and Susan DiBlasio (Anthony); her great grandchildren, Kevin Smith (Tara), Cody DiBlasio (Megan), Jacob Brown (Kimberly), Nathan Hughes (Maitlind), Joseph Brown (Blair), Sophie DiBlasio and Aiden DiBlasio; her great great grandchild Adam Smith; and her siblings, Shirley Chisholm and Donald Freeman (Geraldine). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
