It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jackie Hulie Purvis Sr. of Livingston, Louisiana, who passed away on January 29, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hulie Roy and Ruby Purvis; his siblings, Jesse Monroe Purvis (Betty) and Colleen Purvis Foster (Charles); his brother-in-law Joe Wayne Gersch; and his nephews, Hulie Ray Purvis and Paul Douglas Purvis.
He is survived by: his children, Tamra Perise (Sal), Sharmon Thompson (Mark), Lesley Sherman (Brent) and Jackie Purvis Jr. (Gwen); his grandchildren, Jacob (Tina), Josh (Kayla), Bridget, Blane Purvis, Joni Lexia (Ray), Ryan Perise, Lauren Ganucheau (Edmond), Justin, Madelyn Thompson, Garrett (Taylor) and Meghan Sherman; his brother-in-law Gene Glascock (Joy); his great grandchildren, Emma, Ethan, Jonah, Jeremiah, Johannah, Carson, Camryn, Bryson, Blaze, Jaden, Jace and Hayes; his sister Kay Gersch; and his nephews, Polk Glascock and Joe Gersch, Jr.. He is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.
