He is survived by: his wife Mechelle Meche Smith of Leonville; his children, Brandon Michael Smith (Brooke) of Port Barre and Bailey Michelle Smith (Patrick Clardy) of Leonville; his grandchildren, Ivy Joy Smith and Levi Dale Smith; and his in-laws, Chris Meche (Darlene) of Vidrine, Shelly Hearne (Scott) of Ruston and Cindy Harrell (John Dameron) of Port Allen.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Sibille Funeral Home (2309 George Dr, Opelousas, LA 70570). A rosary was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Leo Catholic Church (126 Church Rd, Leonville, LA 70551). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Bellevue Memorial Park (4833 LA-182, Opelousas, LA 70570).
