She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Cecil Humphries and Mary Pauline Humphries; and her brothers, Marvin Eugene Humphries and Cecil Monroe Humphries. She is survived by: her husband George E. Thomas Jr.; her sons, George "Eddie" Thomas III (Mary), Marvin Cecil Thomas (Kathy) and Robert Allen Thomas; her grandchildren, Kimber Leigh Thomas Meade (Jacob), Brandon Allen Thomas, George "Gett" Thomas IV (Leslie), Robert Matthew Thomas, Samantha "Sami" Lynn Thomas and Logan Wyatt Kincaid Thomas; and her great grandchildren, Isabella Thomas, Savannah Long, Shane Thomas, Hunter Thomas, Aeowyn Thomas and A. L. Thomas. She is also survived by her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to family and friend's charity of choice in honor of Dorothy's memory.
