She was predeceased by: her parents, Jake Murray, and Lucinda Murray, Sr. (Robert Lee Phillips Sr); her siblings, Bishop John A. Murray, Diane Hayward, Joyce Murray, Cleveland Murray, Willie L. Golden, Matt Murray and Jake Murray; her daughter Marilyn Phillips; her grandsons, Stanley Williams Jr. and Quinntroy Davis; and her great grandchildren, Tristan Bowie and Maryssa Mishey.
In recognition of her contribution to the community, she received a Proclamation on February 2nd 2019, declaring Rachel Louise Phillips Day, presented to her by former Mayor of LeCompte Craig Phillips on her 80th Birthday.
