He was predeceased by: his son Sheldon Spears; his parents, Henry, Sr. Spears and Gertrude Johnson Spears; and his sisters, Victoria Williams, Almeda Baker and Corine Davis.

He is survived by: his wife Georgia Williams Spears; his children, Sylvester Spears (Kathy), Wendell Spears, Drucilla Spears, Tina Spears (Arthur) and Mack Spears (Sherika); his sister Mary Lee Taylor (Alex); and his godson Jordan Mosley. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.

“I’m very sorry to hear about the passing of my grandfather. I’ve only met him once. My mother passed away last year 3/26/2020 and her desire was to reconnect with him. Unfortunately her efforts went unanswered. Prayers go out to all of his family including the family of his daughter Gwendolyn Arceneaux White.”
