He was predeceased by: his son Herbert "Lightning" Brunet; his parents, Louis and Eugenie; and his sisters, Verdie Cheramie, Gertie Perez, Eugenie Thibodeaux and Claudia Hebert.
He is survived by: his sons, Louis "Bozo" Brunet, Sr. (Juanita) and Henry "Bud" Brunet, Jr.; his stepson Frank "Lobo" Tauzin, Jr. (Glenda); and his daughters, Lena Brunet, Anna and Matherne (Rex). He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
