He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence J. Dufrene and Eunice Dufrene; his son Steven A. Dufrene; his sisters, Geraldine Noto, Sandra Mazariegos and Nora Peyregne; and his wife Doris.

He is survived by: his children, Nancy Houchens (Mark), Michael Dufrene (LaCynda), Cheryl Picone and Rick Dufrene; and his siblings, Edwina Hymel, Joyce Marcel, Marion Clem (Vernon) and Lawrence J. Dufrene Jr. (Sally). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
