She was predeceased by: her parents, Florence Nichoals and Melvin Owens; her granddaughter Sha'Vavion Toney; and her siblings, Emilder Wise Anderson, Linda Owens Robinson, Larry Joseph, Clovest Nicholas, Johnell Nicholas, Lionell Nicholas, Melvin "June" Owens and Harry Owens.

She is survived by: her sons, Michael Nicholas and Maurice Nicholas Toney, Sr.; her grandchildren, Sharice Toney, Maurice Nicholas Toney, Jr., Mikayla Nicholas and Olya Rose Nicholas; and her siblings, Rev. Harry Joseph, Irma Nicholas Smith (Phillip) and Elma Nichols Williams.

Rose M. Nicholas a resident of LaPlace, LA transitioned to her heavenly home at the age of 78, after a long, battle with Parkinson Disease, on Saturday March 11, 2023 surrounded by family at her sister's home in LsPlace, LA.
