He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara (Borzik); his parents, Daniel Allen and Annie Matil (Jarrell); his sons-in-law, Harry Smith and James Truly; and his sister Annette Easley (Keith).

He is survived by: his close friend Patricia Durst; his children, Melissa Smith, Susan Truly and Ronald Henry Ezell II; his daughter-in-law Traci (Heltz); his grandchildren, Elaina Smith Cason (Donald), Harry "Winn" Smith III (Casey), Rebecca Smith Duckworth (Cody), Tyler Ezell, Samantha Smith, Alex Ezell, Lance Drouet and Lauren Drouet; his great grandchildren, Addison Smith and Remi Duckworth; his stepgrandson Michael Nowak; and his siblings, Lynwood Ezell Sr. (Dorothy), Aliene Sanchez (late Silas), Darrell Ezell (Pallie) and Diane Easley (late Ray).
