He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Cole and Dorothy Mills Cole; and his child Devaliant "Chris" Cole. He is survived by: his daughter Germaine Cole Jones; his wife Carolyn Cole; his siblings, Madeline Joseph and Arnold "Mike" Griffin; and his son Michael Carter. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
