He was predeceased by: his parent Mildred Gagan Powell; and his parent-in-law Kenneth Fisher. He is survived by: his spouse Connie Fisher Powell; his children, Margaret "Maggie" Powell, Allison "Allie" Powell and Erin Powell; his parent Morris "Toots" Powell, Sr.; his siblings, Morris "Mo" Powell, Jr. (Olga) and Mildred Brechtel; his parent-in-law Mary Claire Fisher; and his sibling-in-law Donna Marman (John). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
