It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ganelda Marie Cannon of Laplace, Louisiana, born in Edgard, Louisiana, who passed away on September 19, 2024, at the age of 57, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Beatrice Lumar Edwards and Ernest Joseph Edwards; her sister Sherry Edwards; her parents-in-law, Emelda Cannon and Julius Cannon, Sr.; her goddaughter Tramiya Keller; and her brother-in-law Reginald Cannon Sr..
She is survived by: her significant other Anthony Cannon Sr.; her children, Kylund Edwards (Arianne), Kyle, Kayden, Anthony Cannon Jr. and Amanda Hodges (Marcus); her grandchildren, Amir Edwards, Micah, Marcus Hodges Jr., Amani Cannon and Ava Hodges; her siblings, Darlene Borne (Landry), Kimberlyn Colman (Ramon), Donald Edwards (Deshawn), Craig Edwards (Joyce), Gerald Edwards, Robin Edwards and Shannon Edwards; her siblings-in-law, Tanya Harris, Kadoma Cannon, Roshon Cannon and Julius Cannon Jr.; her godparents, Patricia Populis and Joseph Hilaire Jr.; and her goddaughters, Trenecia Edwards and Amiya Lumar. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
