He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Alice Posey; his son Wallace Posey; his parents, Wallace Posey and Rachael Posey; his siblings, Elmer Posey, Buford Posey, Thelma Wright and Callie Hawthorne; and his sons-in-law, Klaus McDonald and Delma Herrington.
He is survived by: his daughter Sindy; his son-in-law Kenny Price of Mer Rouge, Louisiana; his daughter Jean McDonald of Monroe, Louisiana; his stepdaughter Joyce Herrington of Delhi; his daughter-in-law Jackie Posey of Oak Grove, Louisiana; and his siblings, Mattie Almond of Forest, Louisiana and Huey Posey of Lake Providence, Louisiana.. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
