We bid farewell to Sylvia Marie Odom (Lake Charles, Louisiana), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 1, 2025 at the age of 83. Though Sylvia may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Sylvia touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roger Thibodeaux and Helen Dugas Thibodeaux; and her siblings, Roger Nathan Thibodeaux and Sister Mary Roger Thibodeaux. She is survived by: her nephew Michael Thibodeaux (Shirley); and her nieces, Michelle Derouen, Michelle Daphney Thibodeaux and Andrea Thibodeaux (David). She is also survived by 10 great nephews, 2 great-great nephews, 6 great-great nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Combre Funeral Home (1200 Mill St, Lake Charles, LA 70601). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (610 Louisiana Ave, Lake Charles, LA 70601).
