With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Michael John Barras of Lake Charles, Louisiana, who passed away on July 7, 2024 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Michael John may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Michael John touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Emile Mitchell Barras, Sr. and Therese Pellerin Barras; and his brother Emile Mitchell Barras, Jr.. He is survived by: his sister Rita Barras Gayle; and his nieces and nephews, Michael McClosky, Byron Gayle, Jennifer Watson and Amanda Caraway.
