He was predeceased by: his son Jack; his parents, Angelle Gallien (Green) and Jack Gallien; and his brothers, Leroy "Topee" Lewis, Kenneth Gallien, Eurise Gallien and James "Seran" Gallien.
He is survived by: his children, Angelle Gallien (Green), Donald Gallien, Joseph W. Gallien, Jr. (Wendy) and Mona K. Powell (Marvin, III); his grandchildren, Ekhara (Freeman), Donnanesia Gallien, Layla Gallien, Miles Gallien, Lance Gallien, Morgan Powell and Marvin "Chase" Powell, IV; his great grandchildren, Neveah Rye, Jamieun Broussard, Jr., Tregon Sturkey, Tatum Sturkey and Tyrese Sturkey; and his brothers, Hubert Gallien, Leoran Gallien, Lorell Gallien and Charles Gallien, Sr.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
