She was predeceased by: her parents, Merlen Mertena and Hassie Mertena; and her siblings, Merlene Trahan, Tony and Bill Mertena.
She is survived by: her husband Bobby Ellender; and her sisters-in-law, Waverly Abate (Vincent) and Mary Ann Hebert (George). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of cats.
