He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Smith Sr. and Mary Henry Smith; and his siblings, Shirly Jones, Helen Briscoe, Davis Smith Sr., Albert Smith, Joseph Smith and John Bellard.
He is survived by: his children, Katina Hodges, Lisa Comeaux (Edward), Cynthia Woods (Darrell), Jessie Smith III and Justin Smith; his siblings, Rose Lee Dominigeaux (Alex), Mary Ann Kendricks (Roy), Theresa Smith, Evelyn Smith and Jeffery Smith (Leslie); his grandchildren, Loretta Declouiet, Gladys Renee Thomas (Albert), Jakayla Thomas, Demetria, Raven, Tevin, Ashley, Darius Lawden, Breyona Herbin, Alexis Hodges-Franklin (Tarius), Jacob Hodges, Taneshia Williams (Donald) and Shandrika Woods; and his goddaughter Karen Sylvester. He is also survived by great great grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the James Funeral Home (1801 Moeling St, Lake Charles, LA 70601). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
