She was predeceased by: her parents, Milton Lewis Sr. and Hazel Oreboe Lewis; her brother Milton Lewis, Jr.; and her grandmother Marcella Oreboe. She is survived by: her close friend Hayward Fobbs; her children, Marcella Lemelle (Christopher Williams), Len Lemelle (Wanda), Edward Lemelle III (Carol) and Carl Wayne Sonnier; her sister Kanika Ajanaku; and her nieces, Aissaitou Sidime Blanton and Odilla Sidime. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
