She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Rousseau Chiasson and Lena Connolly Chiasson; her husband Augustus Sibley Dewey; her son Kenneth Dewey; her son-in-law Mark Gentry; her siblings, Genevieve Chiasson, Nola Williams, John Chiasson and Willard Chiasson; and her children, John Dewey (Joanna), Becky Sweeney (James), Steven Dewey, Denise Gentry (Steve Kimbrell), George Dewey (Kristie), Theresa Dewey (Jim Pool) and Rene Dewey (Debbie).

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 9th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 10th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of Peace (3001 Ryan St, Lake Charles, LA 70607). A rosary was held on Wednesday, October 9th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A procession was held on Thursday, October 10th 2024 at 1:30 PM. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, October 10th 2024 at 2:00 PM.
